Turning 30....

On July 26th I will enter into a whole new decade..... I will be 30!! I have been in my 20's for what seems like forever! In that time, I have gotten married, had 3 children, and moved 6 times. Life has been a whirlwind, and now it is starting to hit me, as I am looking at a few grey hairs..... I am getting older, but am I getting wiser? Or am I just getting more and more irritable? I consider myself pretty young. I had my first child when I was 25, and my 3rd when I was 28. I have done all of that before the age of 30, that to me is pretty impressive, to others I know, its pretty insane. Well here is to ME.... a almost 30 year old mom of 3.... darnet I look good for a forever 29 year old!! I found this list on the internet, and it made me laugh. Especially the #1 comment... I find myself doing that ALOT nowadays!!

10. You already lost all your youth when you turned 20 anyway.
9. When you get older your memory goes and you don’t have to drink as much to forget how old you are.
8. You college loans are paid off, now you can start on the mortgage and credit cards.
7. It’s not entirely creepy when you’re attracted to a nineteen year old.
6. You’re still 25 years away from being a “senior citizen”.
5. Finally get to drop the charade of trying to fit all those candles on the same damn cake.
4. You get to join a whole new demographic group for marketing surveys!
3. In only 5 years, you can run for President!
2. At least you aren’t 31.
1. It’s finally time to teach those whipper snapper kids who keep prancing around on your lawn a lesson.

Yellow... I like yellow

Take this test!
You're yellow, the color of joy and energy — two things you definitely bring to everyone around you. It's hard for anyone to be sad or lonely in your presence; your sunny disposition and cheery outlook just won't allow it. The warmth of your personality shines through in the kindness you show friends and family (and strangers, too). Always ready with a lighthearted joke or heartfelt compliment, you know how to make people feel good about themselves, so they can't get enough of you. Yellow is a warm and inviting color for a warm and inviting person — you!

I am getting old....

Today we took the kids to this po-dunk little fair out here in South Jordan. It was fun, but it was SOOOO HOT. The kids had so much fun on the rikkity old carnival rides. I decided to take Lily on a few rides... ok this is where I show my stupidity, BIG time. remember the SCRAMBLER?

Lily and I ventured onto that ride thinking nothing of it, what a fun ride... eh..... not so fun anymore. Seriously I was about to hurl! Luckily the ride ended. I had to drink something FAST before I passed out. Seriously! I am not even 30 yet! Back in the day I used to totally go on all the crazy spinny, upside down wacko rides.... proves yes... I WAS a wacko. Now I am a old lady who cant handle ANYTHING that spins me in ways the human body shouldnt go! ugh.. then being even more stupid... Lily wants to go on the ride that SPINS you until you stick to the wall.... I am soooo stupid. Jackson was tall enough to go on it, shockingly... he was cool with it, until his little body was slathered and GLUED to the spinning cushy wall...

all he said while his cheeks were shaking, and his eyes popping out of his cute little head was....."I weeeeely want to go home now.... mammy... lets go home..." Lily looked like she was about to have a seizure. Once the ride ended lily, the smart one in the family says "yea, that wasnt the best idea.... lets not do that again!" NO PROBLEMO!!! Oh I still feel queazy. These pictures are not from today.... I had to avoid throwing up, so taking pictures of this "splendid day" was not really happening! All in all it was a fun day. Spent about $20 on lame carni games just to win jackson a car that probably would cost $1 in the target dollar spot.... and a lame sponge bob picture... Lily won a mini shamu beanie baby thing and a even lamer picture of a cat with psychotic eyes that are bigger than normal... crazy carnivals!

Pretty funny

JUST A MOM?

A woman, renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk 's office,
was asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation.
She hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.
'What I mean is,' explained the recorder,
'do you have a job or are you just a ?'
'Of course I have a job,' snapped the woman.
'I'm a Mom.'
'We don't list 'Mom' as an occupation,
'housewife' covers it,'
Said the recorder emphatically.
I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself
in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall.
The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised,
efficient, and possessed of a high sounding title like,
'Official Interrogator' or 'Town Registrar.'
'What is your occupation?' she probed.
What made me say it? I do not know.
The words simply popped out.
'I'm a Research Associate in the field of
Child Development and Human Relations.'
The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair and
looked up as though she had not heard right.
I repeated the title slowly emphasizing the most significant words.
Then I stared with wonder as my pronouncement was written,
in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.
'Might I ask,' said the clerk with new interest,
'just what you do in your field?'
Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice,
I heard myself reply,
'I have a continuing program of research,
(what mother doesn't)
In the laboratory and in the field,
(normally I would have said indoors and out).
I'm working for my Masters, (first the Lord and then the whole family)
and already have four credits (all daughters). Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities,
(any mother care to disagree?)
and I often work 14 hours a day, (24 is more like it).
But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers
and the rewards are more of a satisfaction rather than just money.'
There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she
completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.
As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career,
I was greeted by my lab assistants -- ages 13, 7, and 3.
Upstairs I could hear our new experimental model,
(a 6 month old baby) in the child development program,
testing out a new vocal pattern.
I felt I had scored a beat on bureaucracy!
And I had gone on the official records as someone more
distinguished and indispensable to mankind than 'just another Mom.'
Motherhood!
What a glorious career!
Especially when there's a title on the door.
Does this make grandmothers
'Senior Research associates in the field of Child Development and Human Relations'
And great grandmothers
'Executive Senior Research Associates?'
I think so!!!
I also think it makes Aunts '
Associate Research Assistants.'

After the weekend/week I have had.....

OK, well this weekend Porter got sick, REALLY sick, and my life has been flipped upside down. Is he already starting to be a man? Cause seriously, he is the biggest BABY when he is sick! reminds me alot like Jake when Jake is sick! haha! Well Porter is OK now... turns out he has a mild case of pneumonia. His chest Xray showed some "puss pockets" YUCK-O, and his cough was very "crupey" if thats a word, but that's what the M.D said, so I am going to use it too. He is on some pretty hefty antibiotics, got a nebulizer treatment, and we have to use albuteral puffer inhaler 3 times a day for a week. His little lips and mouth turned bright blue early this morning and he was struggling to breathe! Totally horrified me. All in all little Po Po will be fine.... he is FINALLY asleep, lets see for how long! I got this "quote" story thing-a-ma-boo from my friend Zoie's blog, and i love it! I had to change the wording a tad, since I have 3 kids... here is it! feel free to steal it from me as well!

"Being a mom isn't always the most rewarding job. I wipe runny noses with my own shirt. The words get off your sister, get off your brother, DON'T BITE, DON'T HIT, THAT IS ENOUGH" are part of my daily vocabulary. I live off half eaten yogurts, and cold chicken nuggets. I fold mounds of laundry, break up fights, change a dozen diapers a day and dress 3 little people before getting dressed myself. Its a full time job and then some. But there are times....."small moments"....when everything isn't perfect, but its alright! When being a mom isn't my job.... its my privilege. I love you Lily, Jackson and Porter!
Next time, save me a warm nugget OK!

Its the happy, fun days like this day that make it all worth it! I love my family!
