Ham glaze recipe

Well I made this yummy ham yesterday for the Ronald McDonal house and I had some requests for the recipe.
I just bought the hams at costco. But you can literally use any spiral cut ham. Get one that has a "glaze packet" included.

1 quart of Orange Juice
1 container REAL maple syrup
2 cloves garlic pressed
zest from 1 orange
couple dashes of ground ginger
2 TB mustard
Glaze packet from ham (it has all the spices you need)
3 TB honey
1 stick of butter
Mix well in a sauce pan. Add all ingredients and reduce liquid by 1/3. Once the ham is warmed, pour glaze all over the ham and make sure to get it in all the slices too! Bake for an additional 20 mins until the ham "candies" on top. your roasting pan will be full of juices and more glaze... keep basting the ham with the juices until ready to serve. I save the juices in the fridge so the next day if the ham dries out in the fridge, I can re-moisten it! YUMMY! Let me know if you try it and like it!

Kids holiday pictures!

These were taken last week and I love them! Jackson is such a goof ball and would ONLY smile if Zoie gave him that ginormous sucker! POrter doesnt know what to do about a camera in his face...and Lily.. well she is a poser!

Another reason why I love Zoie...

Zoie did our Christmas pictures this weekend, and it was an adventure to say the least! But all in all... she did a FANTASTIC JOB and I just love love love her!! And I am very happy that so many of my friends now have a new photographer!! ZOIE ROCKS!! Go to her web page.... its on my blog under "farmer family"
Oh and she also designed the Christmas card for me too! She is amazing! Not only does she deserve a HUGE pat on the back for her work, I think "farm boy" and the little farmers deserve some fun! haha!

Honeybaked Ham recipe...YUM-O!!

Raise your hands if you love the crunchy bits of heaven coating that yummy ham on your christmas table?ME ME ME ME ME ME! Raise your hands if you hate that a store can charge almost $80 for a ham!! YIKES!! Well here is a recipe that will flip your lid its so good! And you do need a blow torch for it to work!

Recipe makes 8 servings
Honey Baked Hams are basted in fruit juices and then glazed with a mixture of brown sugar and honey. Here is a copy cat recipe from Family Circle Magazine. Have to say, I love Honey Baked Hams. Makes 1 7 lb. ham.
SERVES 8

Ingredients
1/2 (7 lb) spiral cut smoked ham (@ 7 lbs. fully cooked)
1/2 cup pear juice
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1-2 tablespoons dijon mustard
few dashes of ground cloves
few dashes of cinnamon
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 375 ° F.
2 Place ham, cut end down, in a large baking pan.
3 Mix pear nectar and orange juice in a bowl.
4 Bake ham for 15 minutes basting frequently with juices.
5 Mix brown sugar and honey together in a small bowl.
6 Brush mixture over ham and bake for another hour or until internal temperature reads 140 °F.
7 Honey Baked Ham corporation uses a butane torch to carmelize the glaze to a crust.
8 The ham is placed on top of a huge metal drum covered with foil and carmelized

This can be done with a pre cooked spiral cut ham..... warm in over with all the sauce repeat basting, then torch it until the ham blisters and crunchy bits of heaven appear!! If you arent a Ham lover.... Honeybaked ham also has a honey baked turkey breast. And this recipe can be used on that too! Just go to the store and get a turkey breast and cook it as directed on the package..... and then continue with the carmelizing recipe! YUM-O! We usually do both, turkey and ham. We are a sandwich loving family and there is nothing better then leftover ham and turkey on a sandwich, or in a breakfast quiche, casserole, etc etc YUM-OOOOOOOOOOO!

Holiday diet

This made me laugh when I read it, so I had to steal it!

HOLIDAY EATING TIPS
1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact,if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving chocolate balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can - And quickly. It's rare. You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it! Have one for me … Have two! It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple, Pumpkin, Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards!

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips: Start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO!! What a ride!"

I am alive!

Sorry I havent posted in a while. Its been a crazy couple of weeks! We went to California for Thanksgiving. Took the kids to Disneyland, beach did other cali only adventures. Made me miss my old "hood" but not enough to move back, thats for sure! The kids LOVED the beach. Lily said she wants to move to the beach and play in the water ALL day! Disneyland was fun. It was a gloomy day outside at first, but cleared up, gloomed up again, cleared up and then at the late wee hours of the night started to rain, so we left! Jackson wandered off while JAKE was watching him in Toon town while I was with Lily trying to meet the princesses. I get a phone call from jake, "uh jackson is missing" thinking he was just probably 10 feet away goofing off I didnt take much belief in that he was REALLY missing! I then called Jake back asking if jackson was OK, he said "no he is still missing". Then the panic arose! I grabbed Lily, even though we were about 5 people away from meeting Lily's idols..... and we booked it for Toon town! 20 mins pass and still no Jackson. As a mother, I panicked! I was freaking out YELLING for Jackson. Other parents were starting to panic asking if they could help....people all over toon town were searching for MY SON! I ran to a "body guard" Minnie's guard! And asked ever so calmly....."uhh my son is missing.... he was here, and now he is gone...what do I do!!?" He literally SKIPPED and pranced grabbed my hand and said "oh this happens everyday, not to worry, we will find your boy!" I wanted to smack him for being so happy so he could see how scared I was.... but I THEN realized...oh he does know how scared I am, and thats why he was trying to make the moment not so scary! Thank you body guard guy! After an additional 10 minutes of trying to find him.....we saw a heard of people surrounding a area....I raced for it, thinking "oh my goodness....we found him,but is he hurt!?" He was such a stinker, and he was SAFE! He had a few cops with him, a cop dog..... 2 moms who were amusing him. A vendor man who gave him tons of grub (mickey mouse pretzel, frozen lemonade, chips, cookies, and a sucker!) dude, the kids made out with like $40 free food! WAHOOOOO! He then saw me and goes "oh hi momma". I talked with the police officer, showed him my ID, signed a paper stating that we found him, and literally hugged the women who found him and stayed with him until I found him! They told me "oh we have kids, and we knew there was some mom out there hysterical! BINGO!! jackson wandered off a few more times after that, but we werent too far behind him! He is officially back on the leash!
We then headed home the saturday after thanksgiving...and stopped in Vegas to see our friends who just moved back there from Utah.We went to a fun 50's diner, chatted, walked around the packed chaotic strip met the pussy cat dolls, oh I mean the pirates from the treasure island street show! hahaha Oh rachel..... that was FUN! haha! walked and walked more walking....and finally made it back to the car and back to the hotel! I was so tired after that trip! I think my doctor was right when he told me not to go....and to take it easy. Well we all know I am stubborn and i do what I want, right. I am now STILL swollen, still have leg cramps, and pounding head aches. I see my doc in a few days, and I am scared hahaha! I will post some pictures tomorrow..I need to make dinner, and deliver it to my friend who just had a baby this weekend!

lazy days... well not so lazy

Well I have been crazy the past few weeks to sit and post a blog I havent been lazy enough to blog browse though. I have fun doing that. Anyways, what is new with me... lets see.. .I think this baby really has it in for me. I am 22 weeks along and I am still sick. What gives Amelie.. dontcha love me? Lily is now off track (sigh) and jackson is back ON track (OH JOY!!!) And today was Lily's first day off track and she let me know every minute of the day how bored she was. The inside of my house looked like the cat in the hat came over for a visit. It was rather fun hearing Lily and Jackson play house. Jackson- "oh sweetheart... come here. you want some snacks?" Lily-" year honey, I would love some. Can you feed the baby? The baby is a mini batman joker from a cereal box. It was pretty cute. I need to film their sweet talk and let them watch it when they are teen agers and hate eachother.
Porter is not being so cute any more. He is a monster. He loves unfolding my freshly folded clothes. Throwing clothes out of the hamper all over the place. Opening up cabinets and pulling bowls out. Coloring on walls, and throwing food off his high chair just to get attention. Love that boy.
Lets see what did I miss.. halloween! Yes that was fun. Lily was a fairy, and jackson and porter were pirates. Porter was a pirate for about `10 minutes before he ripped his clothes off. I think Lily had more fun handing candy out to neighbor kids. She would stand on the sidewalk and yell "yo people, we have candy here!!!" It was fun hanging out on the good old daybreak porch talking with neighbors and seeing cute little monsters and princesses coming ever so politely asking for candy. My favorite moment of the night was when jackson saw "the dark knight" joke and his family come to the porch and he says "oooooh batman kicked your butt!!" THATS MY BOY!!!! well here is lily's kindergarten school picture.. time sure flies.. I was looking at her hospital picture, and then looking at her kindergarten picture and it ALMOST made me cry. She was such a sweet little baby, and now she is such a sweet little girl. Time flies when you are having fun!!

Well now I know....

Ok, well I was really dwelling on the meanings of names lately, as you all know. I was trying to think of whats more important.. how it sounds, or what it means. When we found out we were having a girl last week... the name Amelie really stuck out to me. And when Jake said he liked it, something warm came over me and felt finally at peace with everything. Well then the middle name drama was going on. Should it flow, or should it having meaning. Since all my kids are named after a grandparent, either middle name or first name. I wanted to keep with the tradition. We debated between some names.... really thought of using my Aunt Janet's name as a middle name. Then while I was talking to Jake's mom about it, I mentioned her mom's name.. Beth. For some reason Jake doesnt like the name Beth for his daughter even for a middle name. So I thought... well how about Elizabeth. Amelie Elizabeth. So then I went back to me "what does the name mean" thought. Well it brought me to tears when I found out what Amelie and Elizabeth mean. After the week I had last week with flying emotions and friends going through hard times with devistating losses.... The name means Beloved Gift from God. It really made me think... truly, that is what a child is.
I am so blessed to have such amazing, beautiful, sweet children. I look forward to every morning when I wake up to Lily hugging and kissing me. I love tickling jackson until he wakes up smiling, and I love when I go to get Porter, he runs all over the crib, back and forth saying "no.... DA DA!!" My kids love their da da!
SO really, what is a name? Lily's means just that, Lily, the flower. And that truly is what she is to me. She is gorgeous, delicate, soft, smells good most of the time, and she is blossoming everyday into the daughter of my dreams. Jackson... well not much meaning there.... other than "son of Jack" we changed the meaning to "son of Jake". And he is just that! he reminds me of Jake whenever I look at him. His quirky little expressions, his sneaky eye, TEMPER TANTRUMS! and most of all, his sensitivity. Porter.... The gate keeper (which is also the same meaning for his grandpa Ted's name, weird huh). Wow... this makes me laugh..... because seriously he is the toughest kid I know. Solid as a rock, very strong, and I can see him becoming very protective over his siblings, especially little Amelie.
What does your name mean to you? The meaning of my name is well.. pretty lame.. White wave, or fair one. Thanks, lets just remind me how pale I am! haha!

Life is so fragile.

Some of you already know about the sad loss of Bailey Blake. This little baby was born too perfect for this world. My friend Jenn prepared herself for the loss of her daughter, but that you really prepare yourself for that? When Jenn was pregnant she found out about half way through that her baby had a major health issue. For a while they thought it was "brittle bone disease" because she had many fractures through out her tiny body. When she was born, the diagnosis changed and was worse than before. Thanatophoric Displaysia was the new fatal diagnosis for Baby Bailey.

Last night I went to the viewing and truly felt the love ad strength the Blake family has. Listening to their 2 year old say "my baby" while looking at his precious little sister in her pretty white dress. Family is truly EVERYTHING and we need to start to truly Cherish what we have. This was a hard week for me emotionally. I asked alot of "whys?" even though I already know the answer. One of my good friends from my neighborhood lost her baby the day after I found out that Bailey had passed away. I guess heaven needed more angels to bring peace to the earth. Go to Bailey's web page and read about this perfect little girl. And after you read, you will truly learn to cherish your blessings. Jenn you are amazing, and such a great friend and mother. Your little girl is not here on earth but she will always be with you!

THINK PINK!!

Well today we found out that we are having a girl!! The tech was having a hard time seeing its little parts, but my amazing doctor came in and POOF... I guess she was flirting with Dr. Porter and gave him a little peak!! So we are thrilled! Lily is SO happy! She patted me on my shoulder during the ultra sound and said "YEA!! thanks mom!" So little Amelie will be here in march!

Monday monday monday!

Well my OB appointment was moved to THIS MONDAY! Lets just hope this baby opens its little legs and shows its stuff! If the little lemon is shy, I will have even more feeling of its femine shyness. Lily did the same thing! We didnt know she was a girl until I was 25 weeks! She would NOT open her legs! Porter and Jackson loved to show off their stuff. I found out with them at 15 and 16 weeks! If we dont find out on monday, we go back in 2 more weeks for a follow up... OPEN YOUR LEGS KIDDO!
The only thing that stinks is that I have to go all the way up to LDS hospital for the monday appointment. Ugh. My OB is only in his Murray office on Tuesdays and wednesdays. But thats ok.. seems like old times when i had to go up there 2-3 days a week when I was pregnant with Porter.
Oh, and I think we have come to an agreement.....
Amelie Stephens. Middle name is yet to be determined. My cuz Brittany brought up a name I was already considering, but kept quiet... Janet. My dad's little sister Janet passed away 5 years ago next week. She was and is a major blessing in our lives. I am so lucky to have such wonderful aunts. Aunt Janet was something special. She was a mother, a friend and a shoulder to cry on. The name Janet is really making my heart swell right now, and making my eyes water. I think we may have a winner. Amelie Janet Stephens. Or Lincoln Dwight Stephens after my dad.

Middle names, should they have meaning?

Ok, all of my kids are named after a grandparent or great grandparent. Lily Grace is named after my great grandma Lillie Belle Sale. She was a suffragette back in the day and fought for women's rights, ROCK ON NANNA! Jackson Kenneth is named after my grandpa Kenneth who passed away when I was 18. He was also an amazing man who spoiled me rotton and loved loved loved me! I was his baby girl. Porter William is named after Jake's granpa William. Right now he is not doing well health wise and I really love that my children carry on such amazing people's names. Now.. for baby number 4.. it seems to be tradition to name them after a grandparent of some sort. Well now I am in a jam......its not that I am out of grandparent names.... But my dad's parents names well.... Cherry and Moroni, and my mom's mom name is Ethel. So well... you understand. Jake's grandma was Beth, and I like the middle name Beth, but Jake doesnt... ARGH! My great grandma's name was Consuelo, she was from spain. I do not think my maybe daughter would really like the middle name Consuelo and I dont know how good it goes with the names we are looking at. But what about Americanizing Consuelo to Constance? Does that totally take the meaning away? I mean, she went by Connie anyways! She was also a Suffragette and was a VP of a bank in NYC when she was pregnant with my grandpa. That was unheard of back then! Well any advice would be great.
Do you like your middle name? Do you use it?
My middle name is Colleen. After my mom's best friend growing up. I never met the lady.... dont know her... but my mom really loved her.
Oh, and I think we are getting close to choosing the name Amelie... french for Emily, and close to Amelia.....and we will call her Melie. But this may all change.. My mind is all a flutter I tell you!

I have a girl crush on Sarah Palin

Ok, so last night I actually sat and watched the speech given by the most amazing women ever. Sarah Palin is AMAZING. What an example to women everywhere. She is a hard working American with small town values. This country needs a women who is willing to speak up and take a stand instead of being a shadow to the president. Yes, her family has some PERSONAL issues, but why does that matter? her baby has down syndrome? Does it make her a bad mother for running for VP? I dont think she will ever let her family take a back seat to her VP candidacy! The moment her speech was over, what did she do, she immediatly grabbed her children. I loved watching the camera flash back and forth from her to her kids. Her young daughter is the cutest little girl. Such a proud girl! Yes, she has a daughter who is un married who is pregnant. Welcome to this time people! Sadly teen pregnancy is at a huge rise..... does that mean Sarah Palin is a bad leader, because her daughter chose to act like an adult while still a child? I was so happy when her boyfriend was on the stage holding her hand while Sarah Palin spoke. What a great supportive family. This women represents so many other women out there. Women who work to help support their family. MOther's of children with medical abnormalities, Mothers of teen mom's etc etc. What is wrong with a women in the white house? I hear from so many WOMEN saying she is a bad mother for accepting the nomination, she belongs at home with her children yadda yadda yadda.... Phooey... she is an American Women just doing what she needs to do. This country is in great need of a PERSON like her.. not neccesarily a woman, but a person. I am proud to admit that I will be voting for McCain/Palin, and I look forward to seeing them in the white house making huge changes and taking care of this country. And I hope in 8 years we see Sarah Palin running for president of the USA! I for one want a president and vice president who puts his/her hand over her heart in respect to the pledge of allegience. I mean, hello.. my 5 year old is more patriotic that Obama.

I am a MORON!

OK so today we went to a bounce house place, and had LOTS of fun. The kids had a great time, even Porter was a dare devil and climbed up the TALLEST bounce house there and slid down the slide. BUT when I was trying to wrangle the kids up to LEAVE.... Porter was up on the top of the bounce house, and would not come down. I think his clever little mind KNEW I was going to take him home. I grab him, and we go down the middle of the climb up ladder thing (did that make sense?) And I was wearing socks (always following the rules) so we slipped, and ended sliding down the STEPS.. OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH. Well I crushed my pinky toe into one of the steps, and heard the crunch, and boy did I feel it. I said to myself.. "yay I just proved what a tard I really am.... yay for me, I broke my toe!" I grabbed the kids, got in the car, took my sock off and I wanted to puke. It was SO swollen, and you could see where it was broken. Tard girl here... seriously I am such a dork. Well turns out its worse than I had thought. Now I cant put any weight on my left foot, my toe looks like a large purple grape, and my toe nail is hiding. So much for my pedicure I got last week. Well it looks like the break is farther up my foot as well, just where my toe and foot meet. A little crack. I have a foot boot thing now, and I have to wear it when I am going to be walking alot... (uh this is my excuse to not have to work out people YAY FOR ME)
This much is true... when jennie is involved.. drama is involved. These 3 things do not mix.... bounce houses, pregnancy, and a 30 year old clutz....
At least Sarah and Zoie looked stylish on the slide. I break my toe/foot and look like a flying blob. yay for me! I will post picture of my toe tomorrow for everyone who is DYING to see it! Tomorrow is Lily's 5th birthday, I CANT BELIEVE SHE IS 5! Ahh my baby girl! (wiping the tear away, just kicked the computer desk with my bad foot)

Pardon my absence...... I got the Breaking dawn bug

Holy cow this is a LONG book. Feels like I have been reading it forever and I am not even half way done. So far, so good. Its been a bit interesting....... lets just say "foreplay is over!" hahaha at least the author is CLEAN, uh.... cause it could be alot worse! Spoiler alert...... my fellow Twilight drugies... turn away NOW!

Being a pregnant lady... I am always interested in baby names.... but.. Renesmee? Serious? Now that is the worst name I have ever heard! Ok.. thats all for now. I am tuckered out, and I am actually NOT going to read tonight. I want to sleep and not have dreams of a monster growing inside me. Seriously last night I woke up SWEATING... freaking vampire book! hahaha

I am still alive, just wishing I was dead at the moment

Ok, So much has happened this week, and I dont know where to start. I got home from girls camp last friday and I was really SICK. I was so sun burned it caused sun poisoning and I had little blood blisters on my forehead and hair line and my shoulder. OUCH. I was shivvering and HOT at the same time! I felt a little better by monday, and I had to get Lily ready for KINDERGARTEN! Lily started Kindergarten on tuesday and I DIDNT CRY, in public. She was so cute, and told me "mommy, let go of me, I am a big girl, and Mrs Thayer blew the whistle... time to go to SCHOOL!" It was so cute seeing her wave to me and blow kisses. My baby girl is a KINDERGARTNER! I will post pictures later, I am not feeling sohot right now.. darn pregnancy.. BLAH!

What else..... hmm I AM SO SICK. I cant eat anything, well I can, but its things that arent good for me. I cant drink milk shakes and eat anything cold and frothy. Anything solid, well its not a mix for me! This child is beating me up inside! I have been a zombie all week. So I have used the excuse of being sick today to stay in my room all day and read Book 3 of The Twilight series... WAHOOOOOO Read about 300 pages before I was falling asleep of being so sick.
I am a Twilight junky, and I am so excited to start the 4th book next week. I need to take a few days off ro re collect myself, and be a mom to my kids. They tend to get neglected while I am reading! Dont freak out, they are clean, fed and safe...... hahhaah.

But its not my fault... my friend and fellow Young Women's presidency member is also going, and she is as much of a girly girl as I am. Wahoo... its a week of hanging out at a lake, going on the zip line, certifications, camp food, and getting REALLLLLLLY dirty. SO MUCH FUN! Talk to you all on FRIDAY! I AM WITH OUT A COMPUTER UNTIL FRIDAY, OH HEAVEN HELP ME!

I FINISHED TWILIGHT!

Well this morning I woke up earlier than normal so I could finish the last few chapters of the book. OH-MY-GOSH! I WANTED MORE! I so did not want the book to end! I have totally fallen for the characters and just want to read more! So once I finished I searched on like for the trailers to see what this movie will "look like". Ok so who is going with me on opening night to see this movie? Vanessa? Brooke, Kari, Bethany, Michelle, who else... LETS GO! I am going to be a giddy teenager, SERIOUSLY! I am debating on starting book 2 this weekend. My family has been with out a mother and wife since tuesday, and I think I need to spend time with this, also since its my birthday tomorrow.
We are going on a little group date with some friends to Tepanyaki, and then off to see the Batman movie. For anyone who refuses to read twilight.... RACHEL A... oh come on!! I was a skeptic for a while, now I am a addict! ITS TAKEN OVER ME! BUT WORTH IT! I mean come on, its read Stephenie Meyer books or tabloid trash? Twilight rocked, more than I expected, and THANK YOU BROOKE for FINALLY convincing me to read it! I am so happy there are lots of twilight mama's out there! I just thought it was a teeny bopper series since my niece read them....... I love Edward

Obsessed... ... wow twilight has taken over my life

Ok, so I started the book a few days ago, and I am ALMOST DONE. I literally read 300 pages today. Thats right... I am a nut job. I just cant put it down. I had to force myself to put it down tonight! And now I cant stop thinking about it. I just finished the "Hunt" chapter and my heart is still racing. I am secretively in love with Edward. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Why didnt you guys make me read these books months ago? You are supposed to be my friends.... you were so holding out on me! And the name Isabella sounds really good to me right now... Maybe Jake was onto something when he said he wanted to name the baby Isabella if its a girl... haha I LOVE THIS BOOK, and its the first book! I will start book 2 tomorrow most likely, but I am sad that I will be going to girls camp next week. Is it appropriate to bring it to girls camp? hmmm I may just have to! hide in the sleeping bag with my flash light reading away! I have been a very bad mom and wife today... my poor family.... I am under the twilight spell!

Jake's 35th Birthday cake!

We set up my friends bounce house (thanks Janie) and that entertained the little kids!

Well Jake loves his Wii system... for his birthday we had a Wii party! Family and friends came over and played Wii on the projector. It was pretty fun to watch grown adults playing... they REALLY got into it, as you can see in the pictures!

Like Jake's sponge bob cake? You can thank Lily and Jackson for that one. It was a ice cream cake, and no I didnt make it. Baskin robbins did! YUM-O!!

Twilight Books...

Ok, so since I am so tired of people thinking I am NUTS for not reading this book series.. I will start... Going to the book store this week, and I will buy them! I want to read them before the movie comes out. Brooke will be proud.

Argh I went to THREE boko stores today, and NO ONE HAS THE FIRST BOOK! ANYONE HAVE IT SO I CAN BORROW IT! Maybe I wil just buy it on line. I am just trying to support the stores, ya know! Hopefully I will find it! My friend has 2 and 3... but I cant seem to find book 1~!

Found the Paper back editions of all 3 at Target. I have read a few chapters of Twilight, pretty good! The first chapter sort of a snoozer, but it still kept me wanting to read!!

I am a baby factory! Its official!

Well I am living up to the Mormon stereo type.... I am a baby making machine. Yes, I am pregnant with my 4th! Can you believe it! I am about 10 minutes pregnant, so I am not going to post one of the little baby calendar things yet... its still a funky looking shrimp, so when "he/SHE" doesnt resember a tadpole or shrimp, I will do the "count down clock". We are due on March 20th. Lily is very excited about it, now she is officially pregnant as well... not really, but in her little grown up mind, she is pregnant as well. I choose to pick my battles carefully! We are really excited to conclude our family, and have fun with 4 busy babies! So give me some advice on the names that JAKE has chosen.... he is actually taken a active role in the whole baby naming game. Let me just state, his favorite TV shows are Prison Break, and the 4400 (which was just cancelled, darn you USA network!) He likes Lincoln James for a boy, and Isabelle for a girl. Isabelle is the name of this crazy lady on the 4400... and well for all you Prison break fans, you get the whole Lincoln deal.. but did you get the LINCOLN JAMES.... LJ people. Jake is OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW! But hey its ok.. Wentworth Miller is a hottie... haha!

Mason Hibbert

This blog posting is really hard for me to do. Life is so gentle and fragile. We seriously do not know what tomorrow has in store for us. No one hops in the car and says "oh I think my child will die today. Some friends of ours from our old neighborhood just lost their 18 month old to a tragic accident. He choked in the car while eating a snack. His parents did everything they could do. Mason was a beautiful little baby, and this family had been through so much just to have him and his twin brother Lincoln come into the world. The family has set up a trust to help with the emmense amount of medical and funeral bills they will have due to this tragic heart wrenching day. In lieu of flowers or gifts for the Hibbert Family, some friends have opened a trust for Lincoln, Dave, and Char to help them with the unexpected expenses that they will have. Anyone can do this by going to any Washington Mutual Branch by making a donation to the “Mason Curtis Hibbert Trust” or give them account # 3172147510. I know that Dave and Char will appreciate this immensely and are so grateful of the continued support and love that friends and family members have shown and continue to show. The obituary is below, take a look and give what you can.

Its all for Charity!

Well Lily and I are out to save the world again! Well not really, but we are just out to help those in need!
We followed my cousin Brittany's example and went on line to order our lemonade stand from www.sunkist.com. Well the other day we got a phone call from Sunkist and they told us they will be here in Utah NEXT week doing media work for the Take a stand foundation, and they chose Lily's charity event to spotlight! Next saturday, July 19th Lily and I will be running a lemonade stand in Salt Lake city! Our charity of choice is the Ronald McDonald house. 100% of the proceeds will go to the house. We will be making fresh squeezed lemonade! Once I find out where we will be selling the juice, I will let you know! Oh yea.. did I mention WE WILL BE ON TV for a press release! WAHOOOOOO We will have a huge poster of pictures of the time we stayed at the RMcD house with Jackson, and then we will deliver all of the money earned directly to the house in Downtown SLC! Doing good, just feels good!! OH and another thing... Sunkist will match the donations raised up to $1000!! SO BUY SOME LEMONADE FROM US!!! Its for a good cause!!

Oooh Jasmine...

You Are Jasmine!

Independent and adventurous. You don't want much; just to break out of the guilded cage society has put you in and experience life to the fullest. Following orders isn't really one of your strong points, and you would rather live a life of poverty than being forced into something that you hate.

Which Disney Princess Are You?

Pretty much agree..... but have to comment on the OK with being poor.... Uh...not all the time! haha! I would be happy to be forced into a palace with lots of money, wouldnt take much force!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAKE!!

My husband, what a guy!

Isnt he a good dad... he would sleep with Jackson in his toddler bed!

He stayed up ALL night and became santa clause! He put together Jacksons Train table and Lily's kitchen.... NO sleep, and stayed up all day on Christmas with the family! (thanks red bull!)

My 3 favorite men!

Well its official.... my husband is getting OLDER. Jake turned 35 years old today! ON his birthday,he started a higher paying job... what a gift! Maybe that job will benefit me more than him, eh? All morning Lily has been asking when she can call daddy and tell him happy birthday. Well we tried a few minutes ago, and got voice mail. So needless to say, Lily was rather upset. But she will be ready for him when he comes home from his new office! Happy Birthday Jake.... we love you!!
