Happy 4th BIrthday Jackson my love!

Well 4 years ago today my little studly man Jackson was born at 5:30 pm at LDS hospital. He was such a cute adorable FAT little guy when he was born. 10 pounds 22 3/4 inches long... can we say OUCH!! It was love at first sight with him, and nothing has changed. I absolutely adore being his mommy and love getting hugs and wet kisses from him everyday. He is so lovable, sweet, crazy, destructive, adorable, fun and sneaky. All the characteristics of a boy, and I just love that he is a total mama's boy! We have had some ups and downs with health and behavior issues but all of that are taken care of and I finally have a healthy happy baby boy, who is slowly becoming a wonderful boy, who will become a wonderful young man and so on and so on.
I am constantly thinking about the book "Love you forever" when I think of my children. Jackson was NOT a cuddly baby,and certainly not a cuddly toddler. He was miserably suffering from severe eczema and had no desire to be touched by anyone. This made me very sad and I felt like a failure as a mother. Why did my son hate having me hold him and try and comfort him? Why do other boys let their moms cuddle with them? When will my son let me hug him with out hurting him?
All of that changed when he was 3. This little sweet boy came out and ran to me hourly to hug and kiss me. Finally my boy "loved me". He would let me hold and rock him to sleep. He would let me sit and read him stories, he would let me TOUCH him and found comfort in my touch. For all the mothers of young little men you all should agree with me about the love between a mom and her son. As of right now, I am the only woman in his life, and no one , NO ONE is good enough for my son =)
This morning when Jackson woke up he crawled in bed next to me and said "is it my special day mommy?" I said YES!! What do you want to do today? "Nothing....nothing at all". So thats what he is getting.... I am not having him do ANYTHING. He can wear his PJ's all day if he wants (but he did get dressed) He can do whatever he wants. I love my boy!!
For his birthday party 10 little friends are going to the Aquarium for a under the sea party! We are really excited. Jackson LOVES the Aquarium and I think he aspires to be a marine biologist.... but we shall see. =)

Oh yea, and today is also my sister Stephanie's birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Jackson adores his baby sister and loves to give kisses and tell her how much he loves her. Yes he is wearing socks on his hands.... we learned to not question what Jackson wants to do...... pick your battles wisely!!! Love you super dude!

March 6, 2009 6 lbs 13 oz, 19 inches long

Well it was a LONG LONG day! We got to the hospital around 8 am, was put on monitors and got all ready for the baby! Made ourselves at home and just chilled out for a while waiting for the pitocin to kick in. Then all of a sudden GUSH!! My water broke! Can I just tell you that is the worst thing ever. Sitting in non stop leaking water for hours... yuck!
They checked my cervix again,and I was STILL at a 3-4 cm dilated, so it was still a waiting game. After a couple more hours of being the worst pain of my life I got an epidural, they checked me again, still at a 4..... a few more hours, still at a 4......finally after literally 10 hours being at 4 cm dilated, they told my I may have failure to progress and I needed to consider the idea of a C section. I knew I had 24 hours from the time my water broke before I HAD to get a c section. I told them to give it a little while longer,and then I would decide! So the nurse said that she had a patient go through the same thing, and they turned the pitocin off. And let my cervix and uterus "chill out for a while". Well that worked! They checked me at 12:30 am, and I was at a 6 .... then at 1 am I was at a 10!! I had to lay there and let her drop down a tad since she was so high. Then I really needed to push, so the nurse told me to give some little pushes to get her ready.... well I did, and she "prairie dogged it" as one of the medical students in the room said (prairie doggin it-popped her head out and then went back in to hide) They yelled "STOP PUSHING!!!" So I was cooperative and told them they were happy that my legs were paralyzed or I would have kicked them in the head.
My doctor came in about 10 mins later and got all set up... and I had to wait another 10-15 minutes to start PUSHING. I pushed and out popped her head, and then pushed again, and out popped her body! she was SOOOOO small! I looked at her and told Jake "yea, she is yours!" she looks just like jackson only 4 pounds smaller than Jackson was when he was born! But she has Jakes nose, mouth, ears... I was just a carrier.
The kids came and met her the next day and it was really cute. Lily adores and cant stop kissing her. Jackson was THRILLED and kept saying "oh Mey mey is so sweet, fresh from your tummy!!" Porter could have cared less. BUt wow.. it was amazing how BIG porter got over night! he looks like a giant now! Iam feeling great....... Amelie is doing great. She loves to be held, loves to eat and loves her binky. Life is good!!!

Ok, so its almost 10pm and I am still pregnant. 5 cm dilated, irregular contractions....... BUT they are strong! Jake will post more soon!
