Update on pregnancy

Well I do not have PUPPP's. I have Cholestasis. I had some blood drawn and it was diagnosed. Basically my skin will itch and itch, but no rash. Feels like my skin is crawling, and on fire at the same time... sounds fun huh! I opted to NOT get a Amnio test done today, since on the ultra sound the baby looked fine, and the Doctor game me some good drugs that will help the itch. I go in 2 times a week now, and they will test my blood again and if it shows the liver is getting worse, and I am itching even more, they will induce me next week. If Amelie continues to grow at a normal pace, and my itchiness slows down, we will stick to the original date of March 12. So either way, she is coming.... either next week or in 2 weeks! The medicine they gave me is oh so nice. Already working. Also helped that I had ice packs covering the "hot spots" during my exam. Makes me wish I had a hospital ice machine hahaha I love that pellet ice! So I am glad I do not have PUPPPs but I am also mad that of course if its not one thing, its another! All I care about is that the baby is growing and is healthy. As much misery the itchy skin is, keeping the baby IN me is the best thing for her. She needs to chubber up and make sure her lungs finish cookin! And I really hate Amnio's..... so I guess I am a little selfish..... and I am really not mentally READY for this baby!
As I type this 2 out of 3 kids are freaking out because they want the kiddie pool set up in the living room. I guess they really want summer time to come! ARGH KIDS HUSH!!

These next 3 weeks will be a doozy

Ok..... this week I was all excited.... 3 weeks until I have the baby HOORAY!! I thought, ok I have 3 weeks to finish getting things done, like cleaning, organizing cooking meals for my fam to eat while I am down in bed resting...... Well its all going to be put on hold for at least a week. Again... here is goes.. SERIOUSLY!
I have been really itchy for about a month now, just thought ok my belly is growing, so I will itch, right? Well it would come and go and I was really starting to irritate Jake by begging him to scratch my back. I should be angry with him for not OFFERING to scratch!! I will be the first to admit, I have been annoying with the BEGGING! Well yesterday I was doing some intense cleaning with 409, bleach and some cleaning wipes.... trying to get ready for the carpet shampoo guy to come tomorrow. I noticed last night my hands were bright red, as were my feet and belly. And it literally felt like they were on FIRE. I felt like rolling all over the carpet like a dog to ease the itch! Well I found out today I have a rash called PUPPPs. IT SUCKS! Its a hormonal rash that happens during pregnancy. Seriously this is worse than labor. IT NEVER GOES AWAY! I am so freaking miserable I cant even find the words to describe this discomfort! It makes me want to cry at the same time... now I know how miserable my little man Jackson was/is when he gets his eczema break outs. I was told by the doc and nurses no hot showers... warm baths are fine, but heat can make the itch seep out stronger..... oh jeeze..... I think I will sit in a ice bath! Good news is, the rash should go away once the baby is born, bad news is... I still have 3 weeks =(
I was all trying to be good and healthy and went to the dentist.... well I have a cavity, not just a little one.... one that needs a root canal. Seriously..... someone is out to get me. So next tuesday I get to go to a "lap band " appt to have my lap band emptied to prep for delivery, and so I can get breast milk (www.lap-band.com) Then I have to go to a OB appt, then off to a Non stress test for the baby, then off to a root canal. Seriously..... Then Lily is off track from school.... so I will have to entertain her ALL day every day. I am hoping that makes the weeks go by faster!
Again, bright side.... 3 weeks left

NO PICS, but some stuff going on!

Well sorry for no pictures again... we havent had a good working camera for a while, and this weekend "uncle sam" bought us one so I will be using that ALOT, along with the hard drive video recorder he also bought us. Anyways, so this is what is going on in my world. Jackson is finally GETTING the whole potty training stuff, and loves to be so good and make mommy proud and pee on the potty! #2 is still a working progress, but he will get it. Lily loves to encourage him to go, only because she gets a "prize box" as well if he goes, on her watch that is.
Lily is doing GREAT in school. It helps that her teacher is a freaking rock star and has helped her so much to learn and understand reading. She does need to get glasses, and on March 2nd, she is going in to get some! I think its so cute when little kids have glasses! Porter has had this nasty cough and booger nose since Christmas and its making me crazy. He has been tested and tested, FINALLY got a chest x ray a few weeks ago and it showed that he in fact did have pneumonia for a while. I KNEW it, but the docs at insta care would not do a x ray until THEY felt it was needed. Well it was needed. My poor boy had viral and walking pneumonia, and I think its back now. Because he is coughing like a 80 year old smoker, yet again and looks and feels like crap. So off to the doc office again to rip some men a new one if they dont do what I SAY! Dont mess with a pregnant lady, especially if her name is Jennie Stephens. This is my child, and he needs to get better NOW!!
Baby Amelie is GROWING, rather fast I may add. Last week at the ultra sound, she measured in at 6 pounds, and 18 inches long. Which means when she is born in 3 weeks... well.... lets just say I am scared. 1/2 pound to 1 pound a week they can gain. after 36 weeks its closer to a pound a week. Good thing I am having her a week early haha
The house is full of pink baby wear.... and it makes me think of how much fun I had with Lily when she was a little baby. I was SO anti pink for my whole pregnancy with Lily, and when she was born, this girl was a pink baby! And even now... everything in her life is pink, purple and GIRLY! And everything we buy for Amelie, Lily and Jackson both tell me "need more pink mom!" If anyone mistakes my baby for a boy, either they are color blind or just stupid.
We have a awesome photographer coming to the labor and deliver.. ahem... ZOIE!! She will photo journal the days events, with out taking some pictures that could be seen as EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. And will have the good ones bound into a nice book. How awesome is that! Also I have a "soon to be Doula" coming to help me out... ahem Brooke. can I just tell ya, I have the most awesome friends in the world. NO offense to anyone out there who thinks their friends rock... but mine really do rock! I was at the store the other day with all my kids, by myself..... stupid I know.... and a girl from my neighborhood saw me and said ..."uh, what are you doing... I live just a few doors down from you, CALL ME TO WATCH YOUR KIDS..... go take a nap or watch a movie... LET ME HELP YOU!. I literally started to cry, and she was like "well I didnt mean to upset you!" We all went out and got some lunch, and then she did kidnap my kids and I went home to rest. I love my friends!
When I do go into labor, I will have my brand new fancy lap top we got last week, and Jake will update the blog with my progress and some pictures. Once the baby comes out, of course it will take a few hours for anyone to have time to up load pictures of her... but we will! Well I have TONS to do today..... and its snowing like crazy... yay makes it so much more fun to take the kids places! YAY!!

Thought this was funny....

A new supermarket opened in Colorado it has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain. When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience the scent of fresh mown hay. In the meat department there is the aroma of
charcoal grilled steaks with onions. When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying. The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh baked bread and cookies.

I don't buy toilet paper there any more.

Every time I am pregnant I am very careful about what grocery stores I shop in, and what time of day I go. For instance, I cant handle the grocery store, any grocery store in the evening when the meat and fish department are getting cleaned. Seriously makes me SICK. When I was pregnant with Lily we lived in down town salt lake city. I would make Jake drive us to the nice brand new "smiths" up in the avenues because the smiths by our place made me puke! Little did I know that the nice brand new Smiths would make me sick as well. They were cleaning the fish department out..... and I lost it all over a aisle.
My favorite place to be is at Harmons when they are baking bread =) this is my happy place.

Its real! She has a birthday!

I just got home from my OB appt and my doctor is going to "plan" to induce me on Thursday March 12th! Its only a week early so not too bad. She will be all done cooking. Jake wants me to hold her in until March 13th, FRIDAY THE 13TH! No thanks. I am not superstitious at all, but when it comes to medical issues... I havent had the BEST luck, so I am not messing with that! The reason for the induction is, my platelet count hasnt gotten any better, BUT it hasnt gotten worse, which is a good thing. But it still puts me at risk of having bleeding issues during and after delivery. And the farther you go in the pregnancy, the higher the risk is to lose platelets and well... I dont have any desire to be SICK. So a little over a month away, and Amelie will be here! YAY!!
